Common Reasons Why Car Doors Won’t Lock

Key Fob Battery
If your car doors aren’t locking when you press the remote button the key fob battery is probably dead. Replace the battery and check if the problem solved. If changing the battery doesn’t fix it and the fob is still mot working it might be need ed to be replaced.
Burned Fuse
If just one door isn’t locking but the others work fine, a burned fuse might be the issue. It is quite an easy task to change a fuse and also a cheap fix. Check out your car manual and find out which fuse controls the door locks and replace it. If you are not sure about it get a professional help form a certified mechanic.
Damaged Solenoid
If your car door locks aren’t working right a damaged solenoid might be problem. Changing it out for a new one is a simple fix. In old car models a bent key can cause a lot of trouble. It may not turn in the car door locks and make it very difficult to enter the car but more than that it can break inside the lock itself which will require you to replace all the locks in your car including the ignition.
